Frequently Asked Questions About Social Assistance Card
Answers to common questions about iWallet Social Assistance Card, support types and corporate benefit management.
What is iWallet Social Assistance Card?
It is a social assistance infrastructure that enables social welfare foundations, municipalities, public institutions, and aid organizations to provide food, clothing, and seasonal assistance to those in need in the form of a digital balance. Beneficiaries can use their balance at thousands of participating merchants via the iWallet app or a physical card.
Which organizations can use it?
Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations, the social assistance units of provincial and district municipalities, governor’s offices, and other public institutions that provide social assistance, as well as foundations, associations, and humanitarian aid organizations, may use this service.
How do beneficiaries who don't have a smartphone use it?
These cardholders are issued physical cards; they use the cards to make purchases. They can track their balances and spending through iWallet Customer Service. Those with smartphones can also track their balances and spending using the iWallet app.
Can we limit where the spending takes place?
Yes. You can limit each support program by category (grocery store, clothing store, etc.) or by the specific businesses you select. This way, for example, food assistance can only be used at grocery stores and food retailers.
Can we include local businesses in our region in the system?
Yes. Local grocery stores and small businesses in your area can join the network as iWallet merchant partners. This ensures that the aid funds remain within the local economy. The process of onboarding small businesses is planned in collaboration with our team.
How is the list of rights holders defined?
You share your list of beneficiaries with us in Excel format; deposits are made in bulk based on this list. The amount to be deposited for each card must be included in the list. First and last names are not required; cards can be identified by numerical or alphabetic codes. This way, you can launch your assistance program without sharing names.
How do we report on the use of aid?
We are setting up a free dashboard account for an authorized representative at your organization. Every upload and expense is recorded; you can track all transactions through this dashboard using consolidated reports. You can view which support was used, when, and in which business location category—by program, period, and region—and use this information in your own reports.
